Meet our 2025 Local Legend Winner!

The votes are in, and we have our 2025 Local Legend!  We’re delighted to announce that Rita Hallett has been voted Seaton’s Local Legend 2025! 

Rita, Seaton’s beloved lollipop lady, has spent over 30 years keeping generations of children safe on their way to school, come rain or shine. A long-serving dinner lady too, she’s known for her constant smile, kindness, and uncanny ability to remember names, making every child feel truly special. Her warmth, dedication, and decades of service have made her a treasured and inspiring figure in our community. 

Join us as Rita turns on the town’s Christmas lights at this year’s Christmas Light Switch-On on Saturday 29th November at 5:30pm! 

We would like to invite the five other wonderful nominees John Widger, Mel Barrand, Mandy Saunders, Aileen Heal and Ann Roberts to be in the square at 5:30pm to show our appreciation for their contributions to Seaton.
